The Somos Unidos Foundation is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to creating positive outcomes for New Mexicans through art, sport, community, and unity. We believe that New Mexico belongs at the top of the positive lists, and the bottom of the negative ones. The success of movements like New Mexico United and Meow Wolf proves that our greatest resources are creativity, and community. Our mission is to create positive outcomes for every New Mexican. We aim to do so through community collaborations, programs that unify our state and by affording equal opportunities to every New Mexican.

Chanel joined New Mexico United's staff in the midst of the 2020 COVID-19 outbreak with the intention to immediately begin work on bringing the Somos Unidos Foundation to life. Chanel joined the Foundation from the Albuquerque Community Foundation where she served as Executive Administrator. Chanel has been engaged in the New Mexico United community from its inception as a member of The Curse and her many efforts to support their community projects. As the first Executive Director for the Somos Unidos Foundation, Chanel will shape the foundation's programming, initiatives, and forge relationships with community partners across the state.

For Pete, launching the Somos Unidos Foundation was an inevitability from the moment New Mexico United was born. A believer in the potential of New Mexicans to create and collaborate in meaningful ways, Pete has time and again led the way in enthusiastic investment in New Mexico. From his influential role with Meow Wolf to his leadership of New Mexico United, the Somos Unidos Foundation is the next step in a mission to unlock that potential. In his role as CEO & President of New Mexico United, Pete will shape the growth of the Foundation and ensure the team's efforts remain tied to the mission of creating positive outcomes for every New Mexican.

David comes off of a 11 year career as a player, having been named  the Humanitarian of the Year 4 times. David supports the Foundation’s efforts in increasing access to soccer, providing high level training to youth at no cost to them through the HPP program, as well as building positive outcomes in communities across the state.

New Mexico United’s mission has never been short-term. The team is built to be a positive agent of change for the next hundred years (at least!), and the Somos Unidos Foundation is no different. Our High Performance Program epitomizes our devotion to the future – a cost-free program that gives our state’s brightest soccer prospects access to professional training atmosphere and coaching, regardless of their socioeconomic status.
